During TC's first year at Newark College, she has experienced a profound shift in how she thinks, creates, and communicates through art. Her confidence as a creative has grown, allowing her to take risks and explore a broader range of ideas. Experimentation has helped her develop a deeper understanding of visual language, how form, colour, and concept can speak across boundaries and express emotion and meaning in new ways.

 

At Coreset, she is beginning to uncover her individuality, explore ideas that resonate personally, and embrace the evolution of her creative processes. TC's goal is to cultivate a distinct visual language and personal style, one that communicates meaningful, thought-provoking messages on subjects she cares deeply about.

 

What TC values most about the Coreset community is its diversity and open-mindedness. Being surrounded by passionate, inventive people constantly is pushing TC beyond her comfort zone and challenging her to see things differently. The access to resources, from libraries to workshops, is providing her with endless opportunities for growth. TC believes that whilst Coreset’s industry connections open exciting doors, it’s the atmosphere of creativity and genuine support that makes it truly special.

 

Her long-term aspiration is to become an art teacher, to inspire and nurture the next generation of creatives. Too often, young people are told that art is not a sustainable career path, and TC knows first-hand how discouraging that can be. Having worked as a teaching assistant in a small art company, she has experienced the purity and openness with which children view the world. Guiding their artistic journeys and witnessing their growth is profoundly rewarding, and TC hopes to create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and free to explore their creativity.

 

Looking ahead, TC plans to study sculpture or illustration, disciplines that enable her to create work that is visually striking and emotionally resonant, whether personal, reflective, or socially relevant. She believes Coreset will help her push her practice to the next stage, offering the tools, mentorship, and inspiration to move forward with confidence in her artistic and educational journey.
