Hollie is studying at Newark College and for the past year she has noticed positive shifts in her work. At Coreset she is focussing on discovering her individuality, developing her creativity and visual language.

She has struggled with her identity for years and hasn't yet completely discovered who she is or found peace with herself. Although, she feels like she is coming out of her shell since she began studying in Newark College and started her artist residency at Coreset.

Being surrounded by other artists is inspiring for Hollie; and is heightening her awareness of the many opportunities there are for developing artists. She has not been planning far ahead but she is glad to have a chance to collaborate with such talented and diverse groups at Coreset. Her hope is that people who feel as she does during their teenage years will come to feel comfortable in spaces like Coreset.

Hollie’s dream is to become an illustrator, because she loves drawing story-driven characters and bringing stories to life. She hopes this residency will enable her to open doors to the creative industries.
