She / her
Laura is a creative professional whose work ranges between curator, producer and artist. She has worked the creative industries for over 15 years working on projects in the UK and overseas. She spent 8 years curating projects and touring exhibitions for the National Centre for Craft & Design and recently has devised, produced and worked as lead artist on numerous Arts Council England funded projects, other commissioned projects as well as Creative People and Places projects for Transported Art.
Her practice involves creating community-engaged projects and stand-alone artworks and installations that enable diverse audiences to engage. Having studied traditional crafts initially she has gone onto explore and blend traditional handmade crafts with digital technologies, such as augmented reality to create interactive and immersive experiences.
Learning is her passion, seeing each new project or piece of work is an opportunity to research, experiment and try new ways of working. She seeks to demystify the arts and take creative accessible experiences to diverse audiences and locations. From the outset, Laura’s practice included facilitating others to learn, through workshops, mentoring and interactive exhibitions.
