This exhibition presents the work of Rebecca L. Greene, a recipient of Coreset's inaugral Open Call Residency, and her project Drawing Connections. It illustrates how art and creativity build empathy, awareness and self-belief in the socially excluded. With support from Arts Council England the fourth iteration of Drawing Connections began on HMP Whitemoor’s Therapeutic Wing in June 2025. Co-ordinated and co-facilitated by Rebecca, with guidance from artists John Costi, Lee Cutter and Neequaye Dreph Dsane, HMP Whitemoor's staff and residents participated in a series of artistic experiences which culminated in the creation of a joyful mural and so much more.
Take a look at Drawing Connections and contemporary research which confirms one of the most effective ways of breaking a cycle of offending is by experiencing art.
