Eco Printing workshop, 16 August

Saturday August 16th

From 10am to 4pm

Reserve your place by booking on Eventbrite here. Eco printing is the magical process of transferring the colours and shapes that naturally occur in fresh plants, leaves and flowers, directly onto fabric or paper to create truly spectacular marks and prints. This workshop is designed to develop all the skills and techniques that you need to produce beautiful unique eco prints. It is suitable for beginners and those seeking developmental support, who are keen to achieve clear defined prints that could be used in many varied textile projects.

We will create a collection of fabric and paper prints, using a variety of different plants and techniques. Kay, your tutor and resident Coreset Textile Artist and Costume Maker who explores themes of duality and transformation found in the natural world in her work will share with you a wealth of ideas on how to use your beautiful unique prints.

Content:  Learn to print beautiful natural forms using both the Japanese Hapa Zome method and the Bundle steaming method. Learn how to use fixatives (mordants) to preserve your work.
